Thread Turning Tool

These tools are used to make a thread on workpiece. A full thread can be made by several passes depending on the pitch.  A thread can be internal or External, blind or through.

In Internal thread turning, the tool passes through the bore therefore chip evacuation and vibration will be a challenging issue. Choose left hand tool for blind holes to evacuate the chips out of the bore. Select the right Feed and depth of cut which are recommended on back of the Inserts boxes. For deeper bores carbide tool holder or tools with anti vibration feature is highly recommended to reduce the vibration.

Tool alignment and center high are the necessary setup before starting any threading operation.

External Thread Turning is easier than the Internal threading because tool does not cause any limitations. Use the recommended cutting datas on the back of the boxes provided by manufacturers.  The feed rate needs to be equal to the size of the pitch. Choose the right number of the passes and depth of cut to break the chips before they clog around the tool or workpiece.

We provide a variety of threading holders suitable for various threading operations.Browse our store and shop now!
